Hello,
Surfing around and found your blog on water treatment. I am interested to see what develops here. Our industry lacks any collective knowledge base and except for a few periodicals and organizations there is little means to transfer knowledge.
My particular interest is in the area of chemical feed. I work for a company the builds and sells chemical feed systems. More information can be found at our Wiki http://www.chemfeed.pbwiki.com or at our website http://www.chemflow.com.
Please feel free to go th these sites and add your comments, I would be more than happy to get participation in the Wiki.
I am also very interested in seeing what is going to develop on this site. The water treatment industry is a sector that ought to develop and find new, safe ways to treat the water. This is especially true in the developing countries.
I work for a non-profit called International Action, we install water treatment systems in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
In Haiti nearly every water source is contaminated with human waste. The bacteria carried in the water causes high rates of waterborne diseases such as chronic diarrhea, typhoid and hepatitis. Waterborne diseases are the number one killer of children in Haiti.
International Action water systems are cheap, simple to install, use and maintain. Our tablet chlorinators dissolve chlorine tablets in the water at safe pre-set levels. Today we have reached out to more than 400,000 people in the Port-au-Prince area. In these neighborhoods the rate of waterborne diseases in children has dramatically decreased. But more needs to be done.
You can visit our website for more information at http://www.haitiwater.org
The information is important and I encourage you to talk about it on your blog. I will be happy to help you write on this subject.
Thank you
